Since NBA betting season is upon us, and the preseason is underway, we’re going to look at…..a feud between LeBron James and a football player.

James has been busy over the summer, pushing his documentary “More Than A Game” (shouldn’t you win a title first before making a documentary?) and making a guest appearance on “Entourage” (which was understated and funny). But he also found time to get into a little trouble, indirectly. Cleveland Browns’ wide receiver Braylon Edwards is being accused of punching James’ friend at a nightclub, and James called Edwards “childish”, stating that Edwards must be jealous of him and his friends.

Shoot, why wouldn’t he? Edwards plays for a team that you couldn’t pay people to bet on in your offshore sportsbook. James has great hands, Edwards drops more than he catches. Edwards doesn’t have a movie out. It would be funny to see Edwards and James fight, although I’m betting management of the Cavs fail to see the humor in it.

Nothing will happen here, and everything will be fine….except for Edwards, who continues to be a part of a squad whose Super Bowl odds were flushed before they started.

With the look on his face, did he know he was going to play that terribly against Green Bay? Will he throw four more picks against the Steelers this week?

Mayweather-Marquez odds

Seriously, this fight isn’t going to be easy. Marquez drew with Manny Pacquaio and lost a controversial split decision to Pac-Man, who Mayweather wants badly. This could be the event of the weekend.

NFL betting players are awaiting Michael Vick’s Philadelphia debut tomorrow night at home when the Eagles host Jacksonville in preseason action, and expectations are out of this world. But you shouldn’t expect too much too soon on the online betting front just yet.

Vick hasn’t played in the NFL since 2006, and then the whole dogfighting/suspension/prison thing came about, so it’s not like he could stay in football shape. Super Bowl odds now have the Eagles behind only New England, and I think that may be a bit much…this year. But if Vick does well this year, the Eagles are in a great position. He’ll want to start, and there’s a number of teams waiting for him to prove that he can stay out of trouble, as well as produce. So the Eagles will have to trade either Vick or Donovan McNabb, which are two pretty big trade chips to have. I’m betting management for the Eagles have thought this through.
